porridge

i don't know how you like your porridge but i like my porridge "ko ko".

"ko ko" in hokkien - i don't know how to explain but the porridge is not the watery kind.

it's has very little water and the rice bits are all like sticky and coagulated.

not the teochew porridge kind - i hate the teochew porridge kind of porridge. might as well let me drink water with rice in them.

anyway, my daddy doesn't like so that time when I was trying to cook porridge, he was shocked.

i left the fire on to evaporate the water off and went to watch tv.

he turned off the fire and tells me it's done.

then i went and see, of course, not done lah! so i on the fire again.

then he was like, it's done! later the porridge gets burnt.

so i'm like i like the "ko ko" porridge so cook abit longer.

and he's like, ok i scoop out now and eat first. i don't like that kind of porridge.

thing is, nobody in the family likes it. my mum doesnt like either.

my sis - she just doesnt like food in general.

but my mum knows i like so whenever she cooks porridge, it'll be in my style.
