Muse - Time Is Running Out (Live at Glastonbury)

This is the LIVE version of TIME IS RUNNING OUT by MUSE.

Glastonbury is a dream mate. i dunno when i will ever be able to make it.

I've already missed out on all the good Glastonbury shows.

Someone i met last year at Coldplay's Melbourne concert said he's been to Glastonbury "a couple of times" and he first saw Coldplay there when they werent as big. Just the beginning of the "A rush of blood to the head" fame. and they rocked the little side gig with POLITIK & Wowed everyone.

ANYWAY....

I am here to make a point, again. :-)

The next video is the original song.

Now why am i showing you this?

Jo Jo, my friend, if you're reading this, i'm just ranting my views. everyone's entitlement. :-)

Jo Jo said to me that NGAK does a better rendition of this song.

Well, this is not the first time i heard someone say NGAK did a better version of the song.

Wilson said NGAK does GIVE IT AWAY better than RHCP.

I can understand why they said that cos i'm such a huge NGAK fan and to be honest, i've thought that way a couple of times.

i think ngak does a very good cover of GIVE IT AWAY.

But i certainly do not think his version is better than RHCP.

it is the aura. it is the stage presence. it is the connection.

after my rhcp experience, i'm like, there is no way ngak can be better than him (anthony kiedis). maybe vocally, cos ngak is younger and AK is like 40plus but that aura, that charisma is something that AK has inherently that is beyond any imitation.

People who does covers can only do so much as singing as close to the original of which ngak did to a perfect T and still injecting his own style which is very much commendable and makes him one of the best live performers in singapore.

but that song, it belonged to rhcp and i cannot illustrate enough, that covers will always be covers.

similarly for time is running out. i know ngak did a fantastic version cos it is a difficult song and if im not wrong, it is in a minor tune? Musicians can feel free to correct me. Minors, are so difficult to sing.

the original version probably wasnt mindblowing after hearing ngak's version first. but you have to compare live versions with live versions. MUSE blew it away.

look at that energy. look at that crescendo when he sang the chorus....

i'm a huge fan of ngak and i am not a blind teenage girl who thinks he's god.

because he's not.

i am very critical of live performances because i have such high expectations.

and i think ngak & his band timmy is one of the best in singapore.

absolutely better than EIC whom i dont give much of a damn.

so ngak's not perfect. i hate it when he does FIX YOU. He just doesnt own it. There is no connection AT ALL.

FIX YOU is a very meaningful song and i have come to realise because alot of you came up to me and say, u know, i really like FIX YOU.

because it can mean different thing to different people. ngak's version sucks.

a couple of the coldplay songs - not too good either. I've heard him sang THE SCIENTIST a couple of years back but it wasnt mind blowing either.

what i'm trying to say is we can give credit to people who does fantastic covers but we can't take that special honour away from the original singer.

if that makes sense..

:-)
