Moon & Stars

Every nite when i come back from school (in case you guys in sunny Singapore have no idea, nite time starts at 5pm here - cos sun had already set by 5pm), i cant help but look at the skies. Just like every morning, i look at the skies as well. The sky is so much bigger here!

Anyway, the street where i live in is really dark, actually in Australia, John Howard has no $$ to install better & brighter street lights, so i gets really dark on the roads at nite.

When i drove back & park my car at the side of my house, i'll walk about 10sec to my hse & without fail, i'll look up in the sky.

Do u?

They intrigue me because they are in fact very big, in fact, huge & enormous, even bigger than the sun yet they appear so bloody tiny!! Like what SG looks on the map. Just tiny dots.

And because its really dark here at nite, you see heaps of stars like glitters decorating the skies.

Then, today i realised i see lesser stars.

The sky also appears brighter.

There's the moon.

Isnt it beautiful?

Its only when im here in Australia that i get to see the sky better, see more stars & appreciate the moon better. I nv saw much of the moon when i was in Singapore. Maybe cos we live in flats?

The moonlight just brightens up the sky so much that you dont need much of that street lights.

At the expense of lesser stars. Well not technically lesser stars but its just that when the sky is bright like in the day, you cant see the stars can you?

It sets me thinking.

But they cant coexist together perfectly.

If the moon appears (full moon, of cos), there'll be lesser stars in the sky.

If i wanna see more stars, the moon cant be there.

I think in life we face dilemmas like that all the time? You cant have the best of both worlds i suppose. Thats the way it should go, shouldnt it?

Like i wanna rush assignment, so i gotta miss that lecture. Haha, finding excuses for my misdemeanor.

The day i see as much stars on a full moon night as on a crescent moon night, shall be the day i struck the lottery where i win 25million dollars, so that i can travel around the world attending rock concerts and sponsor my dog and my better half to do that with me. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
