I know i said i was going to do the "Artist of the Month" thingy - which i have failed to do for the past couple of months.

Well i started out with the intention to spread and promote fantastic music through this kbkb channel of mine whose readership is not high. But i do whatever little i can to let fantastic music to be heard. :)

Therefore - i might not promise to do it every month religiously but i will do it as often as i think a good song needs to be heard. I am still doing it with the same intention just not as frequent - but that does not undermine the efforts, does it? :)

I am in love with this song for so long because it is so meaningful.

When i first heard of the song and its title - i thought how amazingly apt it is.

We see our shadows so often that we easily forget sunshine is behind us.

This song serves as a reminder for me to not forget that sunshine is just round the corner when i see too much of my shadow, or somebody else's shadow. HAHA~

Just look at the line up - actually it's not super impressive lah - alot of those bands i dont really know - maybe Japanese bands.

Franz Ferdinand is going to be there - im sure it'll be better than the other time when i caught them at the Indoor Stadium. Singapore's Stupid Indoor Stadium is a JOKE.

Jason Mraz is going to be there. How cool is that compared to the one i missed at The Esplanade?

A surprising band i saw is Wolfmother - they are an Aussie band - and i think the Fuji Rock Festival gig will make ther CV look impressive. The Hives are gonna be there too - although im not a fan - i wouldnt mind really. :)

And MY GOD - Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I still get upset everytime i think about it - i missed the concert when RHCP performed in Singapore in 2002. I was in Newcastle for my exchange programme. I almost cancelled it - and the reason i didnt is because i thought i can catch RHCP in Sydney (which is about 2hrs drive away). Well i thought i can catch them in Sydney because i DID NOT manage to because of a stupidly narrow-minded, petty, mean and FUCKING DISGUSTING gay lecturer GEORGE TEO didnt allow me and threatened to fail my course if i go.

*just for the record - i am the most un-homophobic person in the world. George Teo doesnt do justice to alot of gays in this world with the things he does.

Well - being able to make it to this ROCK FESTIVAL will definitely make up for everything - every unhappy things that happened in my childhood, teenagehood and adulthood.

I REALLY REALLY WANNA GO.

i can go there after i graduate.

it's on 30 July - if i can make it - then i wont stay in OZ LAND for too long.

Three day tickets cost less than 500AUD - thats reasonable i think.

No doubt my 10 year old cocker spaniel is not the most "guai" (obedient) bitch in the world, neither is she those normal dogs that can understand commands, neither is she a fan of medicine and trips to the vet and groomer.

But she is 10 years old.

70 dog years.

Which makes her eligible to take out her CPF and retire already - if she's a 2 handed & 2 legged human species.

Which makes her entitled to senior citizens' rate if she takes the bus - if she's not a bitch that is.

Now - she is my 4 legged hairy long eared best fren - Man's Best Friend - and people are discriminating her because of the fact that she's 4 legged, hairy and long eared.

She's not allowed on buses.

Not even when she can pay abit more to sit in the comfort of a COMFORT TAXI.

One Decade

I had a sudden urge to listen Wu Bai on my laptop so i plucked in all his songs on my computer (3 different albums) onto my Windows Media Player.

Then it appeared in small boxes as titles of all the songs.

So i launched my chinese software - such that i can read the title. But i figured that's not the way to go. And if i burned them onto a CD - i'll eventually have to convert all the names into Hanyu Pinyin anyway.

So i started with ONE album. Then i figured i might as well do all three.

Then it went on to my other chinese albums. Well - i've only got two chinese artistes' albums on my laptop.

If you know the answer - congratulations - our friendship has hit a record 10 years.

Yes Faye Wong.

I've got heaps of her albums - from Tian Kong to Jiang Ai. i do not keep up with the latest anymore. But i've only got about 6 or 7 of the albums on my laptop.

So i started editing all the names to chinese hanyu pinyin - on the blooody file itself - and on the tag editor in windows media player.

You see - here is my point.

We all know that CDs nowadays have that "CONTENT PROTECTED" warning - such as Coldplay's X&Y, The Thrills' So Much For The City, The Vines' Winning Days etc. And pardon me if im the only idiot around - i thought this technology of protecting the contents of the CD only existed in recent years - say in the last 2 or 3 years??

BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I realised it isnt.

Faye Wong's Chang(4) You(2) album was content protected. Chang You also had a concert version which i owned as well, was content protected as well.

I only realised it today.

After how many years? Almost 10 years.

No wonder when i burned it as a mp3 file and played it on my new CD player in the Corolla in Singapore - it couldnt play and i keep burning and burning and it just wont play.

I had NO IDEA. Until today.

That it was copy protected. Windows Media Player launched a webpage for me to download a license. There is a limited number of licenses allowed for each CD i think.

Looking back - those CDs go all the way back to ten years back.

Friends of mine during that period knew im a huge Faye Wong fan.

The songs bring back lots of memories. :D


And i still cant get over the fact that i took ten bloody years to know that Content Protected CD technology existed way before i knew it.

The one feeling that i absolutely abhor has to be the feeling of helplessness.

This feeling arises when i CANNOT help to improve my surrounding to keep myself happy and i have to compromise to other people's desires or worse - compromise to social norms.

i do not conform to social norms because i dont give a heck what people think of me.

You have no idea how bochap i am when it comes to that.

One of my lecturer told me before - in this world, if you dont stand up for anything, you have nobody disagreeing with you - but u dont have anybody agreeing with you either.

If you stand for something, there will probably be as much people agreeing with you as there are people who disagrees.

I hate it when i HAVE to do something :

i really hate it. the feeling of helplessness.

i however wish i am in singapore for my birthday and not here.

Franz Ferdinand went there after the concert on the 16th - and Oasis was there before they came over to Singapore on the 23rd.

I wished i was there - and i WILL be there if i knew about it.

WHY?
1) I was in the car at the carpark of my block. Its a huge carpark because the carparks serves TWO blocks. One whole stretch is on my side and one whole stretch on the opposite side. When i get out of my lot, which is parked parallel to the other cars - like this: \
and i reverse, turning the steering to my right so i will reverse smoothly and get out from the other side of the carpark. On coming there is another car. I absolutely hate pple coming in from there just because it is a shorter way BUT since there isnt any signs indicating ONE WAY, neither are there any ARROWS indicating that i am remotely wrong, i do not blame him.

YET HE GOT THE FUCKIN BLOODY BALLS TO SHINE HIGH BEAM AT ME!!!!!

Harry Potter has a very intriguing and intellectual plot. Nothing a 3-year-old or a 5-year-old will understand. Why disturb the other patrons when they get scared (and thus, cry) by the frogs or Professor Snape appearing out of nowhere?

FEARLESS (HUO YUAN JIA) - is an NC16 show - yet alot of parents booked the tickets without checkin its rating and caused a delay when they collect their tickets with the credit card and their 3 children who barely reached the father's waist.

Where is the brains?

I not stupid too - in my opinion - is not a "FAMILY" movie suitable for all ages. I'd like to beckon that kids below the age of 12yrs shouldnt be allowed.

There are certain issues that are very clear and that JACK NEO has managed to grasp. BUT the execution is so uncouth that only singaporeans can relate it close to our heart - yet to display it in any other way would have us think if Jack Neo is trying to be Wong Kar Wai.

Therefore, i feel that some issues are beyond the comprehension of kids below a certain age and that they would only be apparent and transparent once they reach a ripe old age of 22 (like yours truly).

As you might have heard, or knew, my stupid ass is back in sillypore.

In order to maintain the backbone of this blog - i will not illustrate what i've gone through but rather my thoughts. In other words - i dont detail my daily happenings and what i do but i will kbkb (kao bei kao bu) - haha - as USUAL.

I cant fathom many many many many many many many things since i came back a week ago.

Then i realised i might be dumb after all.

Firstly: -

I ABSOLUTELY do not understand why there are people who RUN (or sprint) for MRT trains like they are missing the ride to reincarnation and have to wait another 1000years before they get their second chance.

SINGAPORE HAS EXCELLENT PUBLIC TRANSPORT SYSTEM lor.

The next train at most come in how long?? One hour?? Half an hour????

AT WORST, 10mins only rite? Usually its shorter.

So what??

5-10mins can make a big difference is it?

Such that you will do it at the expense of knocking down people and risk getting caught in between the doors of the trains.

Have they no brains?

Time is money.

Money cant buy u a life. YOUR LIFE.

Worst - you knock somebody down the MRT tracks because you were rushing for your supposed "reincarnation".

Perhaps somebody should educate me because no matter which side of the coin im seeing, i cant seem to find any valid reasons for engaging such a brainless, idiotic, dangerous and selfish act.

I really dunno how Singaporeans get their license.

Those of you taking your basic theory or have already taken or are planning to take, i'll just pose you a simple COMMONSENSE question.

ZEBRA CROSSING - got people ABOUT to cross - u jus ignore them since they are not on the line yet - or u stop and let them pass?

Commonsense tells u to stop cos if not, u dun get your license.

I was HALFWAY on the zebra crossing - a HYUNDAI GETZ just zoomed pass me not without turning his head to look at the dog i was holding on to. MOTHERFUCKER lor. I hope he gets a speeding ticket, parking ticket and a wheelclamp ticket all in one day - make it XMAS day.

Absolutely no courtesy at all. Like those stupid assholes from Melbourne.



Thirdly: -

BRIGHT LIGHTS.

I mean high beam.

WHY?????????????????

If i am driving slower than you want me to, then overtake me lah - its not like i dun let u overtake?

What's up with the tailgating and high-beaming?



I have been tailgated a million times more than the ENTIRE time i was driving in australia. I drove for a full 4months there before my car broke down. I only drove like less than 8 times in Singapore.

And im not even driving in the fastest lane. Im driving on the normal centre lane - keeping within the speed limit sometimes over the limit by 10-20km/hr.

If your "ferrari" engine in your Japanese car is too fast and you are also gonna miss your second chance at reincarnation, please kindly overtake me - cos by tailgating me and forcing me to give way to your sorry ass - you will be reincarnated in to a chicken.

Those who live in metal cages not even big enough even to flap your wings and only has an opening for you to lay eggs and the whole reason for your existence is your meat and output.

Those people who PURPOSELY say "EXCUSE ME" extra loud when they want you to give way to their bloody ass - of course not without the look of constipation on their face.
